Digital and At Home Learning Day
Under MN State Statue 120A414, "E-learning day" means a school day where a school offers full access to online instruction provided by students' individual teachers due to inclement weather. A school district or charter shcool that chooses to have e-learning days may have up to five e-learning days in one school year. An e-learning day is counted as a day of instruction and included in the hours of instruction under section 120A41.
Beginning with the 2019-20 School Year, Monticello School District will be incorporating "E-learning days" under the name Digital and At Home Learning Days. These days will be used on SOME inclimate weather days and will be designed to meet the needs of students at all building levels. The district will provide communication on the morning of "school closure" and will inform families that it is a day of digital learning at home. Precise information on student expectations will be delivered annually at the buidling level.
